Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.18 Installation - Updated February 11, 2005
Please READ before installing. You might also find it useful to print out these instructions.
This page will allow you to install a new version of the Oracle JInitiator software. It will coexist nicely with the old version so you do not have to uninstall it.
- Click on the link below to install the new version.
- If asked to "Open" or "Save" the file, press "Open" to run it.
- This is a large file (over 8 megabytes) so it will take some time to copy down to your computer.
- Please be patient.
When the download completes,
- click on the button marked "Unzip".
- You will be asked to acknowledge that 6 files were extracted.
- Click "OK". Click on the "Close" button.
You now need to run the file.
- Click on the "Start" button in the lower left of your screen.
- Click on the word "Run". In the dialog box that opens up enter the following command (case doesn't matter) ...
- Hit the "OK" button. Note that the name of the file has the number 10 in it, not the letters IO ("eye oh").
After some activity on your screen, a window titled "Oracle JInitiator Setup" will open.
- click on the button labeled "Next".
- If all goes well, a window labeled "Installation Complete" will appear.
- Click on the button labeled "OK".
Return to the initial application starting page. Your browser will then load Oracle JInitiator and start your application.
You can confirm for yourself that the install succeeded by clicking on "Start" and then "Control Panel". One of the icons that shows up should be labeled "JInitiator 1.3.1.18".
