To be eligible to enroll a student in the high school equivalency program, the Department of Juvenile Justice’s Division of Education uses the following criteria:
18 years of age
2 years behind his/her 9th grade cohort
Length of stay at a correctional institution
Score at least 145 on the GED Ready as a qualifier to be administered the official high school equivalency test
Students’ reading grade level
Student interest in a post-graduate program
Previously enrolled in the high school equivalency program from another high school
