General Information
Oak Ridge Juvenile Correctional Center opened in June 1982. The center is located in the Bon Air section of Chesterfield County, on approximately 15 acres of property adjoining the Reception and Diagnostic Center and Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center. Oak Ridge houses 40 male offenders with developmental disabilities and severe behavioral disorders. Offenders typically have an extensive history of maladaptive behavior, and some are committed for serious offenses. The facility operates a Behavioral "Token Economy" Program and offers Sex Offender, Anger Control, Life Skills and Substance Abuse Treatment Programs.
Visitation Schedule
Visitation for wards and their family members is held every Sunday from 12:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Detailed rules are mailed to the parents of all wards who are assigned to Oak Ridge Juvenile Correctional Center. An abbreviated statement of those rules is:

- A ward may receive a maximum of four visitors who must be on an approved visitors list
- All visitors are subject to being searched by a hand held metal detector and a pat down "frisk" search; anyone refusing to be searched will not be admitted to the facility
- Personal belongings are not permitted in the visiting area
- Visitors are not allowed to bring any items to wards
- Wards may not receive packages from anyone, only legal packages will be accepted and will be searched in accordance with procedures for ward legal mail
